ENVISION/KMJ JOINT VENTURE AWARDED $15 MILLION FTA PMO CONTRACT

February 12, 2015

The Envision/KMJ Joint Venture (JV), comprised of Envision Consultants, Ltd. (Envision) and KMJ Consulting, Inc. (KMJ), was awarded a $15 million Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to provide Project Management Oversight (PMO) support services for major transit projects throughout the United States.

As a PMO Contractor, the JV will give critical programmatic input on a variety of FTA decisions for its grants’ programs and capital projects. The Team will ensure that a project is being implemented efficiently, effectively, and safely. It will similarly determine whether Grantee organizations demonstrate the required technical and financial capacity and capability to perform a task.

“This is an excellent opportunity for both of our firms,” said Victoria Malaszecki, MBA, Envision’s President & CEO. “It allows us to further develop our businesses within the transportation arena – as the Prime Consultant. It also gives us a chance to grow as companies, with anticipated new hires, geographic expansion, and working relationships.”

KMJ’s President, Karen Jehanian, PE, stated, “Both firms have worked on the PMO program previously, as subconsultants. We have been mentored by larger companies, and as a result, have gained an understanding of the program’s nuances. Our past experience on the PMO program has led us to this point, and I’m very pleased to have our woman-owned businesses and our women-led JV accepted by the FTA.”
The five-year contract is the largest award as a Prime for Envision and KMJ, both of which are certified as Disadvantage Business Enterprises (DBEs), Small Business Enterprises (SBEs), and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs).

Malaszecki and Jehanian met each other through the international professional association, Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS). WTS’ mission is to advance women in transportation. Both women serve on the Advisory Board of WTS Philadelphia. (http://www.wtsinternational.org)

“The FTA places great importance on inclusion and diversity,” said Malaszecki. “Our selection for this contract is proof of that, and we’re honored to partner with them on this contract.”
