Pennsylvania Convention Center Facility Expansion

Pennsylvania Convention Center Facility Expansion

Project Overview

The expansion of the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia increased meeting and exhibit space by nearly 60%, allowing two major conventions to be held simultaneously.  The expanded Center has one million SF of saleable space, is the largest contiguous exhibit space in the Northeast, and has the largest convention center ballroom on the East Coast.  Its expansion created more than 2,000 jobs and added an estimated $140 million annually to the local economy.

Envision was responsible for establishing a Primavera-based Project Controls system for the expansion. As the project progressed from the design to construction phase, Envision ungraded the software to the latest versions, and customized and integrated it to meet the needs of the project and project team.  The firm also provided critical training in the use of the software to maximize its effectiveness.
