SFMTA Central MUNI Subway Tunnel
Project Overview
Muni Metro is a light rail system serving San Francisco, California, operated by the San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni), a division of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA). Serving 156,900 passengers a day, Muni Metro is the second busiest light rail system in the United States.
This is a new 1.7 mile tunnel extension of the Muni Metro light rail system in San Francisco, California, from the Caltrain commuter rail depot at 4th and King Streets to Chinatown. The subway is the second phase of the Third Street Light Rail Project. Ground was broken for the new route on February 9, 2010 and is currently scheduled for completion by 2015.
Envision Consultants is a subconsultant to STV, Inc. for CPM Scheduling services under the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Program Management Oversight Contract. Envision is responsible for the review and oversight of public involvement plan and activities. In addition, Envision’s role includes the review and assessment of the baseline schedule, the review of monthly updates to the schedule, participation in risk assessment and cost estimating.
