Summary/Objective

The Senior Project Manager – Rail/Transit position plans, directs, coordinates all activities pertaining to assigned projects. This position typically requires a high level of management and communication experience to effectively manage successful project outcomes. The Senior Project Manager – Rail/Transit coordinates tasks and communications between the client, design professionals, assigned staff and the field.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to read and interpret design and construction plans and specifications.
  • Work with project team to plan, organize and direct activities on assigned project(s).
  • Establish project objectives and performance standards within boundaries of company policies and contract specifications. Confer with project team to discuss work procedures.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with the client, or client representatives and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
  • Monitor and control projects through administrative direction of project team to ensure project activities are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings and other pertinent functions in the best interest of the assignment.
  • Work with the client, or client representatives to manage project activities to protect the company’s interests and simultaneously maintain good relationships with the stakeholders.
  • Provide reports for work progress, costs and scheduling.
  • Understand the company’s capabilities and accurately articulate the company’s value proposition to clients.
  • Participation in proposal activities with the Marketing/BD team developing written and cost materials required for Letters of Interest, Statements of Interest, and other responses to RFP submissions as required.
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus and attention to detail.
  • Maintain the ability to use and manage computerized software and databases.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience preferred. A degree in Engineering or Architecture is required.
  • PE and/or PMP preferred. Candidates will be required to obtain a PMP or equivalent certification within one year of hire.
  • A strong interest in and knowledge of rail and public transit modes.
  • Familiarity with railroad and/or transit operations, engineering concepts, procedures, and practices.
  • Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Field experience is desirable.

Position Type

This is a full-time position.

Travel

Ability to travel to various job sites and Envision’s offices.
