Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) – Enhanced Bus Circulator

Project Overview
This project included the roadway improvements which provides reliable public transit from the Providence Amtrak Station area to the hospital district in downtown Providence, which is within an Environmental Justice area. The project includes 10 new stops along a branded circulator route with a downtown hub in Upper-South Providence, the purchase of six new buses (three hybrid and three diesel backups), re-branding for an additional 29 buses, and signal prioritizations along the route. This project is a semi-exclusive bus lane with station platform construction and ADA compliance project that is being constructed in downtown Providence, RI.
Envision’s oversight of the RIPTA Enhanced Bus Circulator project improvements ranged from the Planning, Preliminary Engineering, and Final Design phases, and providing oversight of the multi-seasonal construction phase. For this project, Envision provided Program Management Oversight services, Task Order Management, QA/QC services, Vehicle Engineering and Buy America services.
