City of Philadelphia, Division of Aviation, Terminal A East Flood Prevention, Philadelphia International Airport
Project Overview
Envision prepared Design Phase Estimates (30%, 60%, 90%, 100%) for the Flood Prevention for Substations at Terminal A East. Work included upgrades and repairs to electrical and mechanical systems, such as replacement of existing cabling, lighting and sprinkler system and flushing of the existing sewer system. Other Interior renovations included concrete patching, CMU repairs and new doors.
The project was undertaken in an effort to prevent flooding which could cause power failures and ultimately delays and cancellations of flights. Envision provided all estimates in accordance with client preferences/requirements. Each line item was priced by material, labor and equipment costs. All OH, profits and bond costs were incorporated into final costs and appropriate contingencies were added at each phase. To further clarify the costing, backup sheets were included to show crews, production rates, equipment required and specific material cost. Each estimate was based on plans and specs provided by the Prime.
