Project Overview

The project includes the rehabilitation of an iconic suspension bridge encompassing over 3,500 feet from anchorage to anchorage, carrying seven lanes of traffic and two rail lines. It also includes the installation of a main cable dehumidification system and elastomeric wrapping, walkway widening, painting, miscellaneous steel repairs, rehabilitation of the anchorages, and decorative lighting.

Envision provided construction inspection, CPM scheduling, schedule analysis, and community outreach for the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Rehabilitation of Suspension Spans and Anchorages Project. Services included CPM schedule review and updates, detailed review of the contractors’ CPM baseline schedule and all progress/update schedules. Review of the baseline submission for overall conformance with DRPA specifications, written report with advance indication of schedule or cost variance from the approved contractor plans and recommend remedial action to the Authority. Community outreach including coordination with the contractor, community, DRPA and update the “Construction Update” monthly, or as needed, facilitating interaction with the public, businesses, organizations, and government agencies, arrange an information session in the Township of Pennsauken, NJ and/or surrounding communities as directed by the DRPA to brief residents and township officials on the impact of this Project.
