SEPTA, Regional Rail Division Critical Bridge Design Project

Project Overview

SEPTA’s Regional Rail Division (RRD) Critical Bridge Design Project consists of five (5) bridges throughout the Regional Railroad System including Media Bridge, two (2) Chestnut Hill West Bridges and two (2) Norristown Bridges. SEPTA plans to repair and/or rehabilitate the five (5) bridges throughout the Regional Railroad System in order to bring the bridges to a state-of-good-repair. The following will be performed on each bridge for each bridge: a survey; an in-depth inspection to identify deficiencies; load ratings for as-is condition and, if strengthening is required, as-proposed condition; and repair and rehabilitation recommendations, plans, specifications and estimate for the scope of work to bring each bridge to a state-of-good-repair.
