Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Metro-North Railroad Harmon Shop Replacement

Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Metro-North Railroad Harmon Shop Replacement

Project Overview

Envision is providing construction management document control services including the set up and maintenance of the document control system for the project as well as managing the input into the project’s document control process including submittals, RFI’s, and shop drawings for the construction supervision and inspection for the Harmon Shop Replacement.

The primary and ultimate objective of this project is to design and construct a new electric car shop to replace the existing Harmon Main Shop Building (Building No. 6). MNR’s intent is to construct the Phase V facilities in two stages, under two separate design-build contracts. The Stage I Consist Shop Facility (CSF) was completed under the current Capital Program and included two consist tracks as well as four major component repair shops (air room, tread brake shop, armature shop, and compressor shops). This facility provided Metro-North with the needed car maintenance and component repair capacity during Stage II construction and permitted this MNR facility to provide consist-based maintenance for its Harlem-Hudson fleet.
