Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, Southern Operations & Maintenance Facilities Improvements Project

Project Overview

The Commission’s new Southern Operations & Maintenance Facility serves as the base of maintenance operations for the agency’s southern region, all of which lies in Bucks County, PA, and portions of two New Jersey counties (Mercer and Hunterdon). This new facility consists of two buildings, adjoining parking spaces, and ancillary service/equipment islands. The site is located virtually equidistant to the Commission’s two southernmost toll bridges – the Trenton-Morrisville (Route 1) Toll Bridge and the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge. The Langhorne facility primarily handles the routine maintenance needs of the dual-span Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge and the Commission’s administrative office building near the Scudder Falls Bridge in Lower Makefield, PA.

New construction of the 44,500 SF Vehicle Maintenance Building includes offices, locker rooms, lunch and meeting rooms, vehicle maintenance bays with lifts and overhead lubricant dispensing systems, vehicle and equipment storage bays, a wash bay and a welding bay. Construction of the 7,000 SF salt storage building, a brine station, a magnesium-chloride dispensing station, and fuel station. As an unimproved site the project includes grading, paving, storm water management, new utilities, and a new drive way across from Big Oak Road through existing wetlands.

Envision provided on-site construction inspection services for the project which included daily reporting, monitor testing, excavation oversight, rebar inspections, daily progression photos and verifying project and material specifications and requirements.
