NJ Transit, Hurricane Sandy Recovery Program
Project Overview
The intention of the Superstorm Sandy Recovery Project (SSRP) was intended to fully repair all of the damage to NJ TRANSIT properties, equipment, bridges, stations, tracks, signal systems, communications systems, power systems, and rolling stock resulting from Superstorm Sandy.
Envision provided overall program planning and resource allocation including review of implementation schedules, overall program schedule with respect to industry capacity and NJ TRANSIT’s capacity to support construction, ongoing review of project budget and schedules change orders and claims, and ongoing preparation of cost and schedule trend analysis.
The SSRP also provided for the hardening of selected NJ TRANSIT facilities against damages from future storms. The overriding goal of the program was for NJ TRANSIT to complete all Sandy-related repair work within two years from the time funding was obligated, in accordance with all applicable Federal Transit Administration (FTA), New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) requirements.
