NJ Transit, Perth Amboy Station Accessibility Improvements
Project Overview
Originally built in 1928, Perth Amboy station is located on the North Jersey coast in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. The station is on NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line and has connections to the NJT Bus routes as well. Perth Amboy station helps serve an average of 874-weekday passengers and remains an important part of the city. However, because of its old age, it is in need of some renovations and technological improvements.
Once the project is complete, Perth Amboy station will fulfill the requirements under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Envision is providing CPM Scheduling services for the Perth Amboy Station Accessibility Improvements. This consists of two new high-level platforms as well as four new elevators. Additional stairs and ramps will be built as well in order to provide access to the newly constructed platforms. The project also includes updated security cameras, the renovation of restrooms, and repairs to the eastbound and westbound buildings.
