NJ Transit Construction Management Services for NJ Transit Distribution General Component Power Project

NJ Transit Construction Management Services for NJ Transit Distribution General Component Power Project

Project Overview

NJ Transit’s Distribution General (DG) Component Power Project includes the overhaul of back-up power systems across multiple bus maintenance, train station, and ferry terminal facilities. Superstorm Sandy caused major disruption to passenger rail and other commuter systems throughout New York and New Jersey. To prepare for future weather events and any other potential power outages, NJT is implementing distributed generation upgrades across multiple facilities.

The distributed generation program will ensure at minimum two weeks of resilient operations for six NJT locations:

• Greenville Bus Maintenance Facility
• Meadowlands Bus Maintenance Facility
• Newark Broad Street Station
• Port Imperial Ferry Station
• Secaucus Junction Station
• Wayne Bus Maintenance Facility

Modifications of the transportation system infrastructure require close coordination with NJT and Amtrak officials to limit disruption on transit operations. Construction activities for the $39-million program are scheduled to complete in 2025.

Envision is providing CPM scheduling, construction scheduling, cost estimating, document control and project change management control services for NJ Transit’s NJ DG Component Power Project including monthly project records submission report and transference of consultants’ team records at project closeout.
